Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 244 is an exciting chapter that sees Yuji Itadori and Higuruma take on Ryomen Sukuna in a battle that will decide the fate of the world. In this chapter, the sorcerers discuss how they should proceed if Gojo loses, and Higuruma steps forward to take on Sukuna. The chapter also reveals the fate of Kenjaku and the reason why some sorcerers from the Kyoto region are missing.
1.The Sorcerers’ Plan:
In Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 244, the sorcerers discuss how they should proceed if Gojo loses. Kusakabe asks who should fight Sukuna and who should stay behind, and Miwa reveals that she has taken a binding vow to never fight again in Shibuya.
The goal of their strategy with Kenjaku is to surprise him so Yuta can kill him. Only if Gojo lost did this apply. It is thus anticipated that Yuta would return upon Kenjaku’s completion. Kamo apologizes and explains that he must prioritize taking care of his family over joining the expedition. Then Kusakabe declares that anybody who is prepared to die and/or is capable of using the Reverse Curse Technique shall enlist. If not, they will provide assistance.
As Choso is a bad teacher, Yuji tries to get Kamo to stay by telling him he’ll learn a lot from him. Higuruma chooses to fight Sukuna because he believes Kashimo would lose. Kusakabe questions if Higuruma will actually receive the death penalty for Sukuna despite Higuruma’s declaration that he will resist using it. Yuji says Higuruma cannot choose that; it relies on whom Judgeman would choose. Higuruma enumerates all of Sukuna’s past transgressions, including his treatment of Yuji, Megumi, and the events that transpired in Shibuya. Higuruma says that if sukuna receives death penalty then he can kill sukuna with executioner sword.
But in Higuruma’s Cursed Technique, the Judgeman identifies crimes one at a time and charges them one at a time as well. They keep talking about potential charges they may bring against Sukuna. The laws of today would make it challenging to prosecute Sukuna for his crimes from a thousand years ago. Furthermore, Higuruma is uncertain as to which of Sukuna’s Cursed Techniques will be eliminated.
There’s a flashback to Yuji saying they can use their previous trial and use it against Sukuna since they can add that he was the one behind the mass murders in Shibuya. The trial against Sukuna and Yuji begins. Judgeman says Yuji is a suspect of mass murder in Shibuya but Higuruma defends Yuji, saying he didn’t kill anyone. He then proceeds to say “the true criminal is…”
2.Yuji and Higuruma vs. Sukuna:
In the fight, Mei Mei’s crows are useless against Sukuna. Higuruma’s hammer ruins Sukuna’s stance and Yuji sends some debris towards Sukuna.
The chapter then sees Yuji and Higuruma jumping on Sukuna. Yuji even lands a punch on Sukuna which he blocks, but is baffled to see that this punch has shaken his whole body. Yuji and Higuruma then come up with a plan to add Sukuna as a co-defendant of the Mass murder in Shibuya and sentence him.
Higuruma says that “we are having a retrial” and domain expansion happens. And Next panel we saw that yuji saying that “we’l appeal” having retrial and drag sukuna into it. and this happens exactly as planned sukuna is dragged into it and he don’t know what was happening.
The trial then begins with Judgeman suspecting Yuji of a Mass murder in Shibuya. But Higuruma defends saying Yuji didn’t kill anyone, his confession was due sense of responsibility.
