1. JJK 266 Recap:
The chapter opens with a heartfelt chat between Yuji and Megumi Fushiguro, a significant character who bears a great deal of emotional baggage throughout the whole series. Megumi expresses his wish to give his sister Tsumiki a better world. Since Yuji is aware of the hardships individuals endure, he respects Megumi’s suffering rather than trying to force him to live. After then, the story returns to the real world, where Yuji and Sukuna’s fight starts. Sukuna counters Yuji’s domain by employing the Hollow Wicker Basket method. But the argument is fueled by Sukuna’s anger of Yuji’s sympathy for him. In a surprising turn of events, Megumi’s soul intervenes in the battle. He uses his shadow technique to trap Sukuna’s legs, giving Yuji an opening to land more blows. This intervention signals that Megumi is not only alive but also fighting back. The climax of the chapter sees Sukuna attempting to use his domain expansion, but something feels off. The final page reveals Sukuna’s finger tied up in a building.
2. JJK 267 Explained:
1. Yuta and Gojo’s Strategic Discussion:
The chapter begins with Yuta and Gojo having a critical conversation during their body swap training. Ever the competitive spirit, Yuta asks Gojo to give him the last Sukuna finger, suggesting that his bold plan be to have Rika consume it in order to copy Sukuna’s Shrine Cursed Technique (CT). Gojo, ever the cautious strategist, says no, explaining that although the finger could satisfy the conditions for Yuta’s Copy CT, it wouldn’t give him enough information to fully analyze the Shrine CT. Yuta agrees, realizing that even with his Cursed Speech, he needed Inumaki’s guidance to use it effectively.
2. The Gamble of Losing a Connection with Sukuna:
Gojo goes on to explain his thinking, comparing the choice to break off their relationship with Sukuna to a gamble that Hakari would refer to as “The Fever.” Gojo explains that this metaphor is about taking calculated risks, which first confuses Yuta. The conversation highlights the complex nature of Yuta’s replicate CT, in which Rika must consume a portion of the subject’s body in order to replicate a method. The strength of the CT to be copied determines the quantity and specific body part that Rika needs to consume.
3. The Limitations and Risks of Copying CTs:
Yuta continues by explaining the intricacies of his ability. If he wants to copy a particularly strong CT, he must consume a part of a Jujutsu Sorcerer’s body that is fatal to them. However, he can fulfill the technique’s requirements by using a binding vow, limiting the number of times he can use it. The complexity increases when the subject regenerates the consumed body part using Reversed Cursed Technique (RCT); from that point on, the body part Rika consumed becomes useless, and the Copy CT’s requirement can’t be met.
Yuta’s past experiences underscore these limitations. He used Inumaki and Hana’s arms because they couldn’t heal them anymore with RCT or modern science. He also took part of Charles’ ribcage to copy his CT, with Hakari reassuring Charles that he would be healed later.
4. The Resonance Plan: A Strategic Move Against Sukuna:
The focus of the chapter then switches to Mei, who asks Todo if Yuta is aware of Yuji and Sukuna’s “Resonance.” Yuta affirms that he is aware of this and says that this plan will be carried out right before they encounter Sukuna, with very little information given to Yuji. A pivotal exchange occurs when Yuta tells Yuji that, despite the fact that he isn’t able to use it right now, Sukuna’s CT has already been engraved on his body, a fact that Gojo’s Six Eyes has verified.
5. Sukuna’s Realization: Yuta’s Bluff Unveiled:
Back in the present, Sukuna notices that Yuji is missing one more finger, aside from the one Sukuna tore off to transfer himself to Megumi. The realization strikes him—Yuta has bluffed him. Yuta used Yuji’s finger to copy the Shrine CT, a revelation that unsettles Sukuna.
6. The Final Battle Begins: Nobara’s Return
The scene shifts to Utahime and Gakuganji, who are present where Sukuna’s final finger is sealed. Gaku questions whether Sukuna’s finger, a special-grade cursed object impervious to physical or jujutsu processing, can be penetrated by a particular technique. Utahime mentions that through a binding vow, removing the objective of destroying the cursed object and focusing solely on applying the technique’s effect, “SHE” might be able to pull it off. However, Utahime is concerned since “SHE” only recently woke up.
Suddenly, the narrative cuts to Nobara, who triumphantly declares, “Rejoice, boys!” Nobara uses ‘Resonance’ on Sukuna’s final finger, causing his entire body to convulse. Sukuna recognizes Nobara’s CT and starts panicking. He realizes that he can’t open his domain and that Nobara’s attack could be the end of him.
7. Yuji’s Determination: A Final Confrontation with Sukuna
Yuji, overwhelmed with emotion, sheds tears upon realizing that Nobara is still alive. Nobara’s defiant address to Yuji, calling him an idiot in her signature style, fuels his resolve. Without giving Sukuna any time to recover, Yuji strikes him with his Soul Dismantle, landing a powerful knee to Sukuna’s face and following it up with a punch that forces Sukuna to vomit.
However, Sukuna isn’t ready to give up. He retaliates, questioning if Yuji truly believed he could defeat him with a makeshift domain. Sukuna acknowledges that Yuji has surpassed his limits, noting that Yuji isn’t even healing his injuries with RCT. The battle is fierce, but Sukuna feels it’s over for Yuji, given how much energy domain expansion consumes.
8. Yuji’s Resolve: The Final Blow:
In a moment of pure determination, Yuji delivers a delayed second impact punch, leaving Sukuna confused. Yuji, with a cold and determined expression, declares, “Let’s put an end to this ever-cycling curse, Sukuna.” The chapter ends with Yuji landing a Black Flash on Sukuna, a move that might just bring an end to the King of Curses.
